Job Description
Uptake Manager MED (Florham Park, NJ) - Telecommuting Permissible 3 days/week. (multiple positions). Oversee uptake on vessel-voyage basis, based on available data & tools, to optimize daily booking acceptance for maximum profit. Execute the model ship per service based on global flows, market demand, customer segments, and cargo contribution. Set and actively manage space allocation between countries on both long/short term basis with considerations to relative yields and customer commitments. Define long-term logistics strategy and translate it to a data driven operational plan to direct new bookings to the right string to achieve maximum utilization. Ensure full use of the entire network by active steering. Ensure timely and effective execution and communication of contingencies. Monitor booking uptake and engage stakeholders to take corrective action when required to ensure maximum utilization of vessels. Execute contingency plans in close coordination with Head of Market, Market Manager & Network to match seasonal supply/demand and minimize service disruptions/failures for customers. Develop long-term strategy and implementation for logistics fulfillment and delivery. Work closely with the pricing team to understand and influence pricing decisions to optimize uptake. Provide input for trade direction setting and network optimization to maximize network profitability. Hybrid work; two days in office per week required. Requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field, and 2 years work experience in the job offered or in a related position managing ocean shipping operations amongst various regions. In the alternative, 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position managing ocean shipping operations amongst various regions. Also requires two (2) years of experience in each: (1) Planning and executing ocean shipping services and cargo operations - rollout, rerouting for MVS (mother vessel) with operation teams; (2) Using databases to control overflows among various regions: North America, Europe, Mediterranean, and Middle East and perform cargo flow analysis on network utilization; (3) Managing trade and cargo regulations overseas; (4) streamlining operations for annual shipping volumes of at least 70,000 FFEs; and (5) PowerBI and Excel to perform data management and statistical analysis of market development/trends and opportunities to grow market shares.
