Position SummaryThe Senior Director, Medical Value Access Liaison (MVAL), is a US medical expert responsible for building and sustaining strategic relationships with population health decision-makers (PHDM)s. This position will support the Company's market access strategy by communicating the clinical and economic value of imetelstat and future therapies to stakeholders such as payers, GPOs, clinical pathways organizations, and P&T committees. The Senior Director will compliantly partner with the commercial market access field team to facilitate access to Geron's therapies through proactive engagement with organized customers, ensuring the delivery of accurate, non-promotional medical information. This position requires expertise in understanding the evolving US health care and managed care landscape and principles of health economics & clinical outcomes research.Geron has two corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. This position is remote, with a travel expectation of up to 50%. This position will report to the Executive Vice President, Research & Development. Primary Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with national healthcare decision-makers, including payers, clinical pathway organizations, GPOs, and integrated delivery networks Responsible for coordinating with HEOR lead and executing US HEOR strategy, including pathways and budget impact models Engage with population health decision makers (PHDMs) in academic and community settings to present scientific and value-based evidence supporting the Company's therapies Deliver presentations and engage in discussions on economic modeling, value dossiers, real-world evidence pathways integration and budget impact analyses with payers and formulary decision-makers Provide accurate, evidence-based responses to medical inquiries, adhering to Geron's policies and guidelines Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the inclusion of imetelstat in clinical pathways, payer pathways, and treatment order sets, while optimizing budget impact assessments Appropriately partner with Health Systems field personnel to provide clinical and value-based support at strategic corporate accounts Act as a conduit for customer insights to inform the Company's medical strategies Identify and escalate opportunities for health outcomes research related projects and investigator-initiated research proposals which are aligned with medical plan Provide medical expertise to internal stakeholders in training and interpretation of key scientific data to support decisions of corporatized providers/decision makers Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the development of PHDM-targeted resources Represent the Company at relevant corporatized provider associations and meetings as appropriateCompetencies Strong scientific acumen and business analysis skills Excellent communication, relationship-building, and critical-thinking abilities Proficiency in networking and influencing without direct authority Ability to navigate complex healthcare ecosystems with professionalism and expertise Commitment to teamwork and collaboration in a dynamic, cross-functional organizationExperience Advanced degree required (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA) 12 years of experience in a relevant role, such as within managed care, the pharmaceutical industry, or consulting Preferred experience in account management or completion of relevant residency/fellowship programsBenefit Statement:All regular-status, full-time employees of Geron are eligible to participate in the Company's comprehensive benefit program, pursuant to plan terms and conditions.
