Job Description
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Deductions Manager in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. This role operates within the financial industry, where the successful candidate will be tasked with the management and resolution of client payment deductions or discrepancies. The Deductions Manager will also be responsible for investigating, analyzing, and resolving issues related to vendor compliance policies.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and investigate client payment deductions or discrepancies arising from violation of vendor compliance policies.
- Process and clear valid deductions while disputing invalid ones, ensuring all disputed amounts are collected.
- Compile and analyze reports on significant deductions and coordinate projects to mitigate these deductions.
- Maintain professional relationships with representatives from retailers to address and clarify any deduction concerns promptly.
- Research and resolve customer deductions including overages, reclamations, damages, freight, fines, product returns and other non-trade deductions.
- Analyze data and trends to identify potential patterns and proactively address any emerging issues, collaborating with other departments to provide insight on process gaps and opportunities.
- Identify deduction trends at the customer level and communicate these trends, helping to develop recommendations for the team to review and implement.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure the company's practices align with current requirements.
- Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
- Utilize skills in Deductions, Unauthorized Deductions, Accounts Receivable (AR), Vendor Compliance, and Power Query to effectively perform job functions. Requirements - Proficiency in handling deductions and unauthorized deductions
- Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with vendor compliance protocols
- Advanced knowledge of Power Query
- Experience with managing chargebacks
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
