Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG's major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.
We are seeking an actuarial assistant to assist with monitoring portfolio performance and advancing our analytics within AIG's Contract Bind business. The actuarial assistant will work on profitability studies, assist in planning and reserving, and produce portfolio management and monitoring tools. The actuarial assistant will be exposed to both pricing and reserving work and will be expected to quickly learn actuarial concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of monitoring tools to help UW understand the book of business.
- Assist in the production of pricing studies for Contract Bind business segments.
- Assist in the development of pricing and underwriting strategies.
- Work with programming to implement rate actions.
- Assist in the planning process for Contact Bind.
- Assist in the reserve review process.
Qualifications:
- BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
- 1 or more exams and actively pursuing ACAS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Experience in SQL or R preferred
- Experience in Power BI is a plus
- Strong business and collaboration skills and responsive to service needs and operational demands
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
