This position reports to the Senior Director, Myeloid, US Medical Hematology, and is a key member of the US Medical Myeloid Team. The primary responsibility of the Director is to support execution of deliverables across the US Medical Myeloid Disease portfolio, primarily supporting the Myelodysplastic Disease team, as well as Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This position requires objective and effective decision making and the ability to provide strategic medical guidance across the cross functional matrix teams.
Critical responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the annual Strategic and Functional Medical plans that are product specific and disease area focused, in alignment with US Commercial and Worldwide (WW) Medical, translating appropriate strategies into effective US Medical launch and life cycle management activities.
- Provide transparent communication and close collaboration with key internal matrix partners (US Commercial & Market Access, US Field Medical, WW Medical) to integrate US Medical perspectives into the cross-functional workstreams and the commercialization process of BMS products.
- Drive the planning and execution of Medical Affairs Sponsored Trials (MAST) and registries (as needed), within appropriate standards for compliance, quality, timeliness, and budget.
- Develop coordinated field medical engagement plans and thought leader engagement plans to ensure customer objectives are met and key insights are translated appropriately to inform the medical strategy.
- Provide disease-specific medical training within the Myeloid portfolio for the field medical team, sales team, and other functions, including disease state training and standard care training, competitive landscape training, training on BMS-sponsored trials and critical manuscripts.
- Coordinate and lead external facing activities including advisory boards / steering committees meetings.
- Collaborate with Matrix Team members on medical excellence, offering innovative solutions to identify and maximize efficiencies at the disease area level and to demonstrate medical impact.
- Demonstrate excellence in leadership and mentorship of team members, including collaboration within a team-oriented structure, effective influence and negotiating across matrix teams, and critical and innovative problem solving
Qualifications
- Advanced Medical degree (MS, MSN, NP, PharmD, PhD, MD)
- A minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Hematology/Oncology and healthcare landscape knowledge & insight preferred
- Must be familiar with all phases of drug development, including clinical development, regulatory and life cycle management.
