Job Description
The Director, Online Campus' (DCM) primary responsibility is to support Christ Church (CC) in executing its mission, vision, values, strategic plans, goals, philosophy of ministry, and online ministry. The online ministry is CC's fourth campus. In fulfilling the Great Commission, the DCM plays a vital role in leading and implementing strategies for spiritual growth and outreach within the Christ Church community. The DCM will develop, coordinate, and oversee the discipleship program, the online campus, podcast initiatives, and the management of Mini Campuses. This role is primarily focused on the Online Campus, which comprises 50% of the DCM's responsibilities, with 25% dedicated to overseeing the Mini Campuses, and the remaining 25% focused on the Podcast(s). Online Campus - Strategize Online Campus Growth: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to ensure the ongoing success, growth, and increased engagement of the online campus, fully aligning with the overall vision and mission of CC. - Manage Online Campus Operations: Oversee all aspects of the online campus, ensuring spiritual growth, active participation, and meaningful engagement among online attendees. - Publish Weekly Sermon Notes: Create and distribute sermon notes derived from pastoral insights for the CC app and online platforms, ensuring they are accessible and impactful. - Lead the Online Campus Team: Manage and guide a team of staff members and volunteers, ensuring seamless operation and coordination of all online ministry efforts. - Recruit and Train Volunteers: Attract and maintain a diverse, well-trained volunteer pool for various roles, including Live Online Hosts, Moderators, Tech Support, and Social Media Management. - Plan and Execute Online Services: Coordinate online worship services, working closely with guest speakers, the Worship Team, Tech Team, and Media to ensure a smooth and inspiring experience. - Craft Host Scripts: Write and refine scripts, notes, and talking points for live hosts during weekly services and special online events, ensuring consistency and excellence in presentation. - Moderate Live Chats: Engage with attendees during live services (also includes: Prayerfest, Encounter with God, etc.), moderating chats, acknowledging participants, and fostering uplifting and spiritually enriching interactions. - Foster Online Community: Cultivate a strong sense of community among online attendees by facilitating virtual fellowship, worship, corporate prayer, small groups, and service opportunities. - Gather Congregant Feedback: Solicit participation and feedback from online congregants through surveys, polls, and other engagement methods to continuously improve the online experience. - Attend Sunday Services: Commit to attending a minimum of 40-45 Sunday services annually (live Hosting not included) to stay connected with the live experience and congregation needs. - Manage Gloo App Initiative: Oversee the Gloo app to strengthen community connections, spiritual growth, and engagement, including establishing a team of responders to address diverse inquiries and challenges. - Collaborate with Media and Marketing: Work closely with Media on live stream preparations and setup, and with Marketing to plan and review promotional materials. - Focus on Innovation: Stay informed of emerging trends and technologies in online ministry, and implement best practices to enhance the online worship experience, including SEO and YouTube optimization (e.g., keyword research using descriptions, tags, categories, etc.). Discipleship - Develop and Implement Discipleship Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive strategy for spiritual formation, biblical education, and practical application, supporting individuals at all stages of their faith journey. - Guide and Mentor Believers: Lead believers in spiritual growth, deepen their understanding of Scripture, and facilitate practical application of faith, with a focus on character development and spiritual transformation. - Oversee Key Discipleship Processes: Manage key initiatives such as Personal Touch, G.R.O.W., and My Next 6 Months classes (at least two in-person and one consistent virtual training), including pathways to Water Baptism and the Joining Our Church Family (JOCF) membership course. - Create and Manage Discipleship Content: Use sermon notes from the online library (i.e. website library, CC app, YouTube, Small Group Lessons) to develop and deliver study materials, curriculum, and digital content, and oversee discussion groups, classes, and events to promote spiritual growth and community engagement. - Lead and Coordinate Discipleship Initiatives: Design and lead discipleship programs, including discussion groups, classes, and workshops, to foster spiritual growth. Coordinate and facilitate church-wide events, retreats, and seminars to deepen relationships, enhance biblical understanding, and encourage personal transformation. Leadership - Build and Lead Volunteer Teams: Recruit, train, and manage a strong team of volunteers to support the fulfillment of the Great Commission across all functional areas. - Conduct Monthly Tracking and Assessments: Regularly track and analyze discipleship student/membership data and online engagement metrics, and assess their progress, developments, and challenges, using measurable metrics. - Cultivate a Discipleship Culture: Foster a commitment to lifelong learning and spiritual growth within the CC community. - Collaborate with Ministry Leaders: Work closely with ministry leaders to integrate discipleship into church programs, activities, and events. - Drive Continuous Improvement: Review and refine work products to ensure ongoing improvements both individually and as a team; establish a continuous feedback loop to evaluate and improve processes. Podcast Initiatives - Oversee Podcast Production: Lead the creation, production, and content development of CC podcasts, ensuring alignment with CC's mission and values. - Content Development: Identify relevant topics and coordinate with guest speakers to produce impactful and mission-driven podcast episodes. - Podcast Coordination: Ensure all episodes are properly scheduled, recorded, edited, and produced, maintaining the highest standards of quality. - Listener Engagement Analysis: Analyze listener engagement metrics to guide future podcast strategies and enhance content relevance and impact. - Maintain Production Files: Establish and manage a well-organized production filing system, documenting work completed, air dates, and performance metrics for monthly reporting to the Executive Team. - Ensure Quality Control: Ensure all podcast episodes are free of errors and professionally produced, capturing the intended message and spirit of the program. Mini Campuses - Expand Mini Campuses: Develop and implement strategies to establish and grow Mini Campuses, which consist of 10-50 people gathering in various locations nationally and internationally to watch CC Online. - Community Integration: Ensure Mini Campuses are seamlessly integrated into the CC community, fostering a sense of belonging and connection among participants. - Support and Engagement: Provide support and resources to Mini Campus leaders and participants, promoting active engagement and meaningful spiritual growth. - Program Development: Design and implement programs and events tailored for Mini Campuses, enhancing communal experiences and spiritual development. - Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the progress and effectiveness of Mini Campuses, gathering feedback and analyzing metrics to refine strategies and improve engagement. - Resource Allocation: Provide Mini Campuses with necessary resources and materials to facilitate their gatherings and activities, ensuring they have the tools needed for success. - Foster Community Building: Encourage and support the creation of meaningful connections among Mini Campus participants through regular interactions, events, and shared experiences. - Collaborate with Leaders: Work closely with Mini Campus leaders to ensure they are well-equipped to lead their groups effectively, providing training and ongoing support as needed. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g. Communications, Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies, Organizational Leadership), or equivalent combination of education and executive business experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; Master's Degree preferred - Previous experience in online Ministry or digital media production, and discipleship - 5-10 years of experience preparing visually engaging pedagogical presentations, podcasts, and media content - 5-10 years of experience in the field of Project Development, Leadership, Recruitment, Training, and Public Speaking - Demonstrated experience in developing and leading discipleship programs, including the ability to create and manage strategies for spiritual growth and community building across various platforms and demographics. Skills: - Proficiency in program development, curriculum design, and project management. - Masterful in using online streaming platforms (e.g. YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Zoom, etc.) - Competent in public speaking for video recordings, podcasts, and live events. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, inspire others, and communicate effectively. - Ability to work collaboratively in a Team environment, fostering unity, creativity, and innovation in Ministry. - Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
