Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing coat fixture tooling used in our thin film coating manufacturing processes. This role involves creating detailed designs, conducting analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of tooling solutions.<br/><br/>Responsibilities:<br/>Design and develop coat fixture tooling systems for manufacturing processes.<br/>Create detailed CAD models and drawings for tooling components.<br/>Conduct feasibility studies and analyze the performance of tooling designs.<br/>Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to optimize tooling designs for efficiency and reliability.<br/>Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling and fixtures.<br/>Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.<br/>Prepare and present design concepts and reports to stakeholders.<br/><br/>Requirements:<br/>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.<br/>Proven experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically in tooling and fixture design, 3-5 years of experience.<br/>Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.<br/>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<br/>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.<br/>Knowledge of coating manufacturing processes and materials.<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications:<br/>Experience with coat fixture tooling design for precision optics.<br/>Vacuum coating equipment experience preferred.<br/>Certification in relevant engineering disciplines.<br/><br/>Safety Requirements<br/><br/>All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
