Job Description
Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
- Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
- Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
- Performs post mortem care
- Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
- Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
- Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patient, compassionate nature
- Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
- Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
