Job Description
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Principal Mail Clerk, the individual will perform mailroom tasks and some clerical support. Examples of work responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Receipt, sorting, and distributing interoffice and US mail
• Ensures that proper signatures are obtained where necessary
• Performs basic maintenance/repair work on related machines
• Makes regular/special runs for intradepartmental collections of outgoing mail
• Drive, load, and unload the County mail vehicle
• May weigh, stamp, and deliver outgoing mail directly to the United States Postal Service
Required knowledge and experience:
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to follow strict delivery/pickup schedules
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to follow strict procedures for the receipt, date stamping, and intradepartmental distribution of incoming mail/packages
• Required to possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license
