Job Summary and Essential Function
The Quality and Safety Project Manager supports Atlantic health System's approach to evidence-based care and clinical excellence by using the techniques of system design, reengineering, project management, patient safety, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis to increase compliance rates as measured by nationally standardized benchmarks and definitions and corporate requirements. This includes: project management, training, data management, and activities to support reputation programs (US News & World Reports). This role serves as a liaison between Service line data management team members and service line leaders.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Project Management: Facilitates/assists with quality improvement projects for teams, service lines, and/or departments as assigned. Including serving as liaison between QPS department and Service line leaders (clinical and administrative) and data leads within service lines. Engages in activities to identify and improve potential opportunities with metrics aligned with US News programs.
- Training: Provides in-service training in quality management, performance improvement techniques and organizational operating procedure standards. Hospital Quality meetings providing guidance and instruction in PI Techniques.
- Data Management: Collects, compiles, analyzes, and reports quality data. Creates Vizient, Power BI, databases, reports, and guides others in the creation and utilize of data reports. Monitors effectiveness and adherence with corrective action plans and reports findings to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety or designee.
- Reputation Programs: Serves as subject expert for reputation programs (US News) to drive improvements with metrics
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Field Required
- Master's degree in nursing or health related field (preferred)
- 5 years of quality improvement/project management in a healthcare environment.
- Experience in leading and facilitating project teams.
- 3 years of clinical experience within an acute care hospital (preferred)
- Current NJ Registered Nurse Licensure (preferred)
- Experience in data analytics and databases, including Vizient (preferred)
- CPHQ certification (preferred)
