About the role
As a CBRE Senior Occupancy Planner, you will provide reporting, data mining, space planning, and interpretation of space planning metrics for a large, high-profile Life Sciences client.
The Senior Occupancy Planner will develop and communicate office and laboratory occupancy plans to optimize building and specialist area use in the region.
What you'll do
- Build block and stack plans, hatch plans, or sophisticated drawings and presentations for office and laboratory environments.
- Gather data from the central data team and create monthly reports on occupancy demand planning or develop documents to support case analysis for business decisions.
- Review, maintain, validate, and update occupancy data and metrics within the system of record. May also prepare forecasts and evaluate space planning trends in general business conditions.
- Take the initiative to see opportunities for enhancing space efficiency and workplace initiatives in scientific workspaces, laboratories, and production environments. Report monthly on delivery of emergent space requirements.
- May review space requirements and provide conceptual plans and recommendations to the real estate team and high-profile business leads.
- May conduct interviews and discussions with client(s) to capture, coordinate, and synthesize project requirements, and functional, operational, and cultural issues.
- Collaborate with other team members to gain business intelligence including move and relocation sequencing, people move lists, and execution. Liaise with Change Management teams as needed.
- Conduct evaluation and review of work area affected by move planning to ensure that current location(s) and office availability at destination location(s) are reflected accurately.
- Make recommendations and implement necessary space planning code changes and/or requirements and updates.
- Support the post-occupancy phase and conduct reviews to ensure completion of deliverables and meet client expectations. Assess results and establish processes for enhancement. Discover potential areas for improvement within clients and/or companies. Transfer project(s) to the Sustaining Management Team and team as required.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts, identifying and implementing cost-saving and business-enhancing opportunities, and ensuring compliance with client space governance guidelines.
- Attend client meetings; draft meeting minutes and secure approvals to proceed when required.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key systems/processes in subject teams and day-to-day functions.
- Offer informal support, including mentorship and/or training, to coworkers. Coordinate and delegate tasks to colleagues within a work unit and/or project.
- Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and tackle routine problems.
- Possess a deep understanding of your subject area and some knowledge of different fields within the function to provide proactive client support.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.
- Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
- Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

What You'll Need:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least five years of design or occupancy management experience in critical or regulated environments. Experience in developing and implementing plans is required.
- Experience in laboratory design, occupancy management, or a scientific background including knowledge of or use of laboratories required.
- Ability and desire to drive solutions, problem solve, and work and lead in a fast-paced/dynamic organization.
- Ability to understand and be responsive to client's physical and business requirements.
- Understanding workplace, financial, and interpersonal capabilities to effectively interpret client requirements for project implementation.
- Skilled in building trust and confidence with collaborators, understanding and addressing their priorities to support business goals.
- Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, and CAD/CAFM software including MS Office Suite (MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel & Visio). AutoCAD drawing experience and CAFM software experience are both required.
- Professional Registration in Architecture or Interior Design is preferred.
- Certification in Corporate Real Estate, LEED, or Facilities Management is preferred.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
- Sophisticated knowledge of financial terms and principles with the ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Proficiency in addressing and troubleshooting problems that may have multiple solutions in different scenarios.
- Prior experience with system furniture design and modular furniture while demonstrating knowledge and adherence to building regulations and health & safety guidelines.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to client(s). Ability to present information effectively and respond to sensitive issues. Ability to adapt to change when necessary, collaborate, problem-solve, and multi-task.
