Job Description
Landscape Laborers. 3 temp/full-time positions with ISOD LAWN & GARDEN CARE, INC. from 2/1/25 - 11/30/25. Perform manual labor to landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Lay sod, mow, trim, mulch, rake, edge, and haul. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, and twin-axle vehicles. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Mow and edge/trim lawns, using power mowers and edgers. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans. Lay sod. Haul or spread topsoil, and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds. Decorate gardens with stones and plants. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears or pruners on the ground. Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools. Gather and remove litter. Workers who have a valid D/L may drive vehicles to transport workers and may be offered additional hrs. Req physical stamina. Must lift and carry 50 lbs. Work outdoors, in extreme temps, and in adverse weather. Company t-shirts provided at no cost and are to be worn at all worksites. On-the-job training will be provided to the worker. Emp pays in advance or reimburses workers in the first workwk for all government-mandated and visa-related fees (excluding passport fees). For non-local workers (i.e., residing outside normal commuting distance), emp reimburses inbound travel costs at the 50% point in the contract (unless paid in advance). Inbound travel includes transp costs from workers perm residence or place of recruitment, a daily meal subsistence (based on rates req by law, currently $15.88/day min or $59.00 per day max for workers with acceptable receipts), and reasonable lodging costs, if applicable. Travel reimbursements based on least-cost common carrier rate. Emp provides or pays outbound travel costs upon completion of the contract period or early dismissal, except where the worker has subsequent employment. Employer may count all hrs worked, as well as any hrs offered within the standard work schedule that a worker chooses to not work, up to the max number of daily hrs on the job order. Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to payment for outbound travel costs or the full three-fourths period guarantee described above. Emp provides without charge all tools, supplies and equipment (incl. uniforms, if applicable) necessary to perform duties assigned. If requested, emp helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paid lodging (not to exceed fair market value, based on number of occupants; cost TBD). Housing costs paid directly to landlord and are not payroll deducted.
3 Crescent Road Florham Park, NJ 07932 and multiple worksites in northern NJ. Emp provides transport between job sites. Emp offers free daily transp to/from worksite from designated pick-up location. Use of transp is voluntary.
$21.87/Hr. OT hours vary at: $32.81/hr. The standard work schedule is from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon through Fri. Emp will offer 40 hrs per wk. Emp may offer more than the stated work hrs, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hrs. Emp makes all payroll deductions req by law.
