The CMS Certification Lead serves as a key resource for Government Healthcare Solutions clients who are seeking to achieve certification of PBM or MMIS modules per CMS' Streamlined Modular Certification (SMC) for Medicaid Enterprise Systems focused on an outcome-based certification (OBC) approach. The certification lead is responsible for driving the activities and interactions with internal and client teams to ensure criteria, deliverables, metrics, and defined reports are understood, reviewed, and approved by the client for agreed to key health outcomes and metrics.
The Certification Lead is accountable and responsible for driving Certification activities in parallel with the Implementation PM and client, and collaborates with technical, business, and operational SME's and resources. The lead helps to prepare the team for the client CMS Operational Readiness Review (ORR) presentation as well as the Certification Review presentation.
Responsibilities
- Driving the overall client CMS Certification process (in conjunction/collaboration with client Project Manager who coordinates formal alignment w/ the client).
- Planning, preparing, scheduling, and managing deliverables, including issues/risks, and progress updates.
- Analyzing CMS' RFP certification requirements for Medicaid Enterprise Systems and identifying gaps and key metrics to be defined.
- Analyzing certification data and reporting results to ensure all requirements are met, with support from Technical and Business SME's from Conduent and the client.
- Gathering input from SME's and creating/updating necessary documentation for Evidence Packets, and other key certification deliverables.
- Leading internal and client meetings as needed, tracking clear action items and decisions (with Tech & PM leadership specific to CMS tasks/milestones (overall Business Project Manager is CMS Cert Lead POC for client related discussions).
- Driving and supporting project PM and others in preparation and execution of CMS ORR and official Certification Review with the client, CMS, Conduent team members etc.
- Setting up meetings/reviews and preparing materials for presentations. *R
- Following up on critical actions and responding to internal or client requests/questions in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree.
- Possess minimum of five years' CMS experience either as a SME working directly in the Medicare/Medicaid field and/or as a Certification Analyst or similar job role.
- Show familiarity or specific experience with managing CMS projects using the Streamlined Modular Certification process.
- Be an initiative-taker requiring little instruction and work well in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Display multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Demonstrate confident and clear written and verbal communication with both internal teams and clients.
- Have a sense of urgency when needed.
- Possess a keen focus on meeting key internal project deliverable deadlines as well as client CMS ORR and Certification Deadlines.
- Show strong command of Microsoft Office Suite as well as Microsoft SharePoint, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
- Able to travel domestically up to 10%.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation or sick time. The estimated salary for this role is $150k.
