Majesco is currently looking for qualified individuals to join our team as a COBOL programmer/developer. In addition to COBOL, Majesco uses a number of various programming languages and technologies. Qualified applicants should be able to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary and demonstrate during the interviewing process their proficiency with the technologies below. Experience working in teams developing enterprise commercial grade transactional software systems is required. <strong>Job Overview</strong><ul> <li>Support and update existing internal applications and services</li> <li>Collaborate with Project Managers, Business and Technical Analysts, Developers, QA and other IT team members to understand business and technical requirements that drive the analysis, design and creation go quality technical solutions</li> <li>Translate business requirements into technical solutions</li> <li>Design, develop, test and debug enterprise software solutions</li> <li>Communicate development status and escalate issues to management</li> <li>Develop documentation and participate in code reviews</li> <li>Create documentation for training (i.e. user manuals, technical manuals)</li></ul><strong>Key Role and Responsibilities</strong><ul> <li>Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology/Systems, related fields or equivalent experience</li> <li>Insurance industry experience a plus, but not required</li> <li>3+ years of experience in software design and development of enterprise applications with strong fundamental knowledge of the SDLC</li> <li>5+ years of experience with COBOL and SQL Server</li> <li>Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills, especially in regards to code analysis</li> <li>Ideal candidates must be self-motivated and have an aptitude for problem solving</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to learn new technologies quickly</li> <li>Must be able to work equally well in a team as well as individually</li></ul><strong>What Majesco Offers:</strong>Majesco is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $118,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors.
