Commercial Lending Insurance Manager
The Commercial Lending Insurance Manage is responsible for overseeing the insurance aspects of the commercial lending process within the organization. This role involves ensuring that all commercial loans are properly insured, managing relationships with insurance providers, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The Commercial Lending Insurance manager works closely with the lending team, clients, and insurance brokers to mitigate risks and ensure that the organization's loan portfolio is adequately protected.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluates and verifies insurance coverage for all commercial lending transactions. Ensures that all loans meet organization's insurance requirements and are in compliance with regulatory standards. Monitors ongoing insurance coverage for the duration of the loan term, ensuring that policies remain in force.
- Identifies potential insurance-related risks associated with commercial lending and develops strategies to mitigate these risks. Collaborates with the risk management team to assess and manage exposure to potential losses.
- Maintains strong relationships with insurance brokers, underwriters, and providers to negotiate terms and secure coverage for clients. Serves as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and clients regarding insurance related inquired and issues.
- Assists borrowers in understanding insurance requirements and helps them obtain appropriate coverage for their loans. Provides guidance to clients on the types of insurance needed and the best practices for maintaining adequate coverage.
- Ensures all insurance and documentation is accurate, complete, and properly filed in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Prepares and presents regular reports on insurance compliance coverage gaps, and potential risks to senior management.
- Works closely with the commercial lending team to integrate insurance considerations into the loan approval process. Provides training and support to lending officers and other relevant staff on insurance requirements and procedures.
- Develops and updates internal policies and procedures to commercial loan insurance requirements. Stays informed about changes in insurance regulations and industry trends to keep the organizations policies up to date.
- Manages performance of team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation and development of team.
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred

- 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience
- Previous experience with Captive Insurance structures
- Strong knowledge of CA insurance policies
Hybrid work is a minimum of four days a week, one flexible day for remote work.
