Responsible for leading and overseeing a team of skilled design engineers, managing the entire design process of equipment, new lines, and other solution, ensuring high-quality design, and driving innovation by setting strategic direction for equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet company goals; this role involves both technical expertise in design engineering and strong leadership skills to manage projects, budgets, and team performance.
How you will contribute
- Manage and mentor a team of design engineers, including hiring, performance reviews, and career development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the design team.
- Delegate tasks and provide technical guidance to engineers throughout the design process.
- Drive consistency and quality in the execution of projects using the appropriate methodology and tools
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project-level risks and escalate them to global leads and/ or the program manager when needed
- Provide project reporting and status updates using scorecards, status reports and monthly review meetings and leading stakeholder meetings
- Confirm the completion and consistency of projects and their readiness to go live
- Own the relationship with the external vendors including quality assurance in all phases of project delivery
- Champion the integration of new technologies, BCS vendors and design methodologies to enhance equipment functionality and competitiveness.

- Support the strategy for NA master plans enabling growth, innovate, bring efficiency and promote the roll out of a high-performance work environment.
- Implement best in class technology and capability (benchmarking conversion costs and technology platforms/BCS).
- Use Integrated Lean 6 Sigma tools and practices and ensure Early Management process steps are in place.
- Creation of flexibility and capability with focus on zero losses and 100% engagement
- Development and roll out of standards in cooperation with the regional/global engineering organization. As such drive competitive advantaged cost structures.
- Development and roll out of break through ideas in close cooperation with cross-functional partners on site and regional level including Technical Innovation Management, Research Development & Quality, Procurement and related functions to support strategies
- Accountable for managing large scale capital investment projects, consolidation work, providing leadership during concept/design stage and execution at highest level of efficiency, quality, and employee safety.
- Provides feasibility perspectives on any Engineering related activities within Manufacturing Supply Chain (MSC) (technical solutions, layouts, capital and running cost estimates, sourcing opportunities and OEM liaison and management, internal and external benchmarks, complexity assessments and resource proposal relative to Engineering through project execution (implementation)).
- Drive regional capacity & capability network in alignment with Category Strategic Plan.
- Responsible for building the resource and capability together with HR and relevant functions to ensure successful project execution and sustainable operations
- The role supports global and regional engineering platforms working towards standardized line designs as well as promoting 'Integrated Lean 6 Sigma (IL6S)' cultural change throughout the organization through functional capability building and driving/applying IL6S work processes
- Requires full cooperation with the Regional Technology Owner (RTO) counterpart (as well as Global Technology Owner (GTO)) for interpretation and localization of the Line of the Future concepts, costs and associated savings.
- As part of the IL6S implementation the role supports the 'Innovation Initiative Pillar (IIM)' implementation in the site. IIM is one of eleven pillars of IL6S being responsible for Vertical Start Up management and Technical Readiness in all initiatives.
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering Required
Job specific requirements:
-  10 years minimum of Project Management experience
- Worked in a Food Manufacturing environment- preferred
- 5 years minimum experience in Manufacturing/ Supply Chain relevant experience (plant management)
- 3 years minimum experience IL6S with focus on IIM (Early Management Pillar)
- 5 years minimum experience leading high performance teams
- Experience in designing equipment to meet AM and PM standards
Travel:
- less than 30%
The base salary range for this position is $141,000 to $246,750; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program.
