KPMG is currently seeking a NYFS Senior Associate, Information Reporting & Withholding - COE to join our Business Tax Services (https://tax.kpmg.us/content/tax/en/index.html) practice.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients on IRW compliance issues and ensure accurate and timely reporting while handling Forms 1099 and 1042-S
- Take a lead role in projects related to IRW compliance, including reviewing and validating Forms W-8/W-9
- Conduct withholding agent diagnostic reviews and assist clients to determine the impact of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the Common Reporting Standards (CRS) on their domestic and offshore operations
- Provide consulting on operational tax functions related to IRW requirements
- Employ strong technology skills to improve efficiency and accuracy in compliance processes
- Stay updated on IRS regulations and guidelines related to IRW, implementing necessary changes in internal processes
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of recent experience in a relevant role, preferably in a Big 4, law firm, or similar setting focusing on IRW compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a preference for J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, or MST from an accredited college/university
- Proven experience with Forms 1099 and 1042-S, including review and validation, and a strong understanding of operational tax functions in the IRW context
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Alteryx, databases, SharePoint, VBA, or Java is preferred, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members
