Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, SAP Application Support for leading and delivering SAP AMS (Application Management Services) support and enhancement services within the organization. This role works with a team of SAP professionals consisting of both GAF and SAP AMS vendor resources, to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery to meet the evolving needs of business in the newly implemented SAP S4 HANA system. The Director, SAP Application Support collaborates closely with the IT Director, SAP Application Support network, SAP Global Process Owners, non-SAP IT team, IT Leadership, business stakeholders and external partners. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to align SAP services with strategic goals while maintaining system stability and performance.
Essential Duties
- Leadership and Strategy:- Define and execute the vision and strategy for SAP AMS services to align with the organizational goals.- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing SAP AMS team, including functional and technical experts.- Foster collaboration across IT and business units to optimize SAP system utilization and business processes.
- SAP Service Delivery Management:- Oversee the delivery of SAP support and maintenance services, ensuring continuous monitoring, timely resolution of incidents, problems, and service requests.- Oversee day-to-day operations of the SAP applications, including performance optimization, troubleshooting, and patch management.- Manage the resolution of incidents, service requests, and changes in accordance with the organization's Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure continuous business operations.- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery processes, tools, and methodologies.- Assign tasks and manage the workload for team members, ensuring timely resolution of issues and projects.- Work closely with SAP functional and technical teams to ensure solutions are effectively delivered.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement:- Serve as the primary point of contact for business and IT leaders regards SAP AMS services.- Manage relationships with external service providers, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable service delivery plans.- Provide regular updates on SAP AMS performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
- Governance and Compliance:- Ensure adherence to IT governance policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.- Work with respective owners to maintain up-to-date documentation of SAP landscapes, processes, and procedures.- Proactively mitigate risks and address audit findings related to SAP systems.
Under This Roof We Require
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field Required
- Master's degree Preferred
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience working with SAP solutions, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP Fiori) and related technologies (e.g., SAP BTP).
- Proven track record in managing large-scale SAP AMS services within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of SAP AMS frameworks, ITIL processes, and service management tools.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and interacting with senior executives.
